Our review
We want to start with a small disclaimer: it's going to be pretty hard to give you too many details about The Void & Void Tech's new experience without giving something away and spoiling it for you. We'll still try, because what they created here is, without exaggeration, an experience that's nothing like a typical escape room, but extremely well executed. From the first second you walk into the location, nothing feels familiar to a visit to an escape room. And yet, in a way that's quite hard to explain, everything is very intuitive. Psynapse starts directly, without too many details, without holding your hand and without explaining what this concept actually means. It's a 100% automated game, very linear and built as a true psychological and social experiment, where every action seems to have a well-defined purpose. And even though you're not guided much throughout the experience, the extremely smart way the game is built doesn't let you stray from the path you have to follow.

Story & Setting
The story isn't served on a platter; you live it step by step. You start as a simple lab subject, undergoing a shady medical test. If we'd usually complain that a story isn't delivered well at the start, here it's completely different, and we were actually excited by this delivery and how it's shoved down your throat (pun intended). Everything revolves around the idea of conformity, manipulation, and group ideology. And just when you think you've gotten used to the narrative thread, the intensity explodes 10 times over, and the game becomes a race against the clock that hits you with pure adrenaline. And the transition from one to the other? A 10, with honors. A way of doing things that, at least in Bucharest, we haven't encountered until now (again, very hard to describe without spoilers).
Puzzles & Gameplay
At Psynapse, everything is automated, and the puzzles rely more on coordination, attention, outside-the-box thinking, and quick reactions than on classic combinations and padlocks. They're very varied, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, and throughout the game you have the feeling that you're not solving puzzles, but continuing that social experiment that started at the beginning. Without giving spoilers, we found the kind of challenges here that would terrify some people, while others would frantically enjoy being put in such unique situations. Important to mention: the room was designed for 3 people, and you can feel that in how the puzzles are built. We were 4 and, even though one of us was sometimes a bit left out, the experience was still very good. If you have a choice, 3 is the ideal number, we'd say.
Atmosphere & Immersion
The atmosphere and immersion are a 10+. The game starts slow, minimalist, but the transition towards chaos and tension is executed phenomenally. The multitude of rooms, the sound effects, the lights, and the staff costumes make you feel like a mouse caught in a real experiment. Another vital element of this remarkable experience is the Game Master's impeccable monitoring and involvement. There are no hints. I'll give you a few seconds to read that again. Yes, there are no hints and you have nowhere to ask for them. But you don't need them, because the interactions with the Game Master happen organically, exactly when and how they should. You'll see what we mean.

Final Verdict
Psynapse-B from The Void & Void Tech is an absolutely mandatory experience for anyone looking for something other than a classic escape room. It's smart, tense, and for almost 100 minutes, you are the subject of a unique experiment in Bucharest.
