Our review
I'm usually skeptical when it comes to superhero escape rooms. I grew up watching the X-Men cartoons right as they were airing, and I'm still a big kid deeply attached to that universe. How could an escape room credibly recreate that sci-fi feeling? What puzzles could possibly make you think of mutants? I just couldn't see it. Or... at least that's what I thought before arriving at Inside Rooms.

Story & Setting
Even if the storyline isn't overly complex, both long-time fans and people who hear about mutants for the first time will get a unique adventure here. Of course it helps if you already know the universe, and you'll definitely giggle with excitement whenever you recognize legendary details from the X-Men lore inside the room. And that's before you even start interacting with them!
Puzzles & Gameplay
The game isn’t entirely linear, but once you understand where to begin everything flows nicely. Our group struggled at first. We hit minor technical issues—these happen sometimes—and our own lack of attention kept us stuck until we finally asked for a hint. Everything that followed erased any hint of disappointment after that slow start. The flow clicked, the downtime vanished, and the puzzles had logical threads that, to our joy, actually featured gadgets straight from the X-Men universe. Lots of “woooow this is awesome” moments from start to finish. I was skeptical when I read about the room being 100% automated, but here as well we were pleasantly surprised. Tip: move fast, you’ll want to catch that finale!
Atmosphere & Immersion
Immersion begins right at the futuristic door at the entrance. The décor is heavily tech-driven and completely disconnects you from reality for 90 minutes. Sounds, lights—everything is top tier. You can see the attention to detail from the Inside Rooms team, who clearly took things very seriously when designing this room. You know how larger teams sometimes leave people feeling idle? The room’s layout lets everyone be active at the same time, so no one ends up waiting around.
What We Loved
  • 100% automation, flawless futuristic décor
  • Authentic props that delight fans
Areas for Improvement
  • !We experienced minor technical issues with the opening puzzles
Final Verdict
It's hard to write an objective review about Inside Rooms because they’ve set such a high bar. Even though we personally rank their other rooms, The wizarding word of Harry Potter and Cabin in the woods, slightly above X-Men, we still recommend playing all three. This is one of the most modern escape room locations we've visited in Bucharest. If you're a Marvel fan and want to feel a bit of that universe's adrenaline for 90 minutes, grab your fellow mutants and go save the world together!
