The first thing that drew us in was the design. The visuals, colours and atmosphere easily take you into bohemian, mysterious Paris and ease you into the story. We say “ease” because that’s what the room does—it doesn’t dump everything on you at once but lets you discover it step by step. The story itself is engaging, with mystery and crime elements.
On the technical side, we also liked the Phantom of the Opera puzzles. They’re well tied to the story and medium difficulty, suitable for most teams. We appreciated finding puzzle elements we hadn’t seen in other rooms, and the automated hint system added a nice touch to the flow of the game.
If you’re more experienced with escape rooms, Phantom of the Opera might not be your biggest challenge and you might finish it fairly quickly.
Every element is well thought out—objects, textures, lights and music create a real opera feel. We have to admit we more than once felt like taking a seat and waiting for the show to begin.
ⓘ Currently we use a custom image for presenting the room in the review. If you are from
Mysterium Escape Room and would like to replace it with the official artwork,
give us a sign and we can sort it out.
