Story & Setting
Ancient Egypt is probably the most used theme in the escape room universe. However, Escape Reality comes with a completely different approach. Beyond pyramids, you'll find time traveling, alternative universes, and secret agents. Intriguing is an understatement!
Puzzles & Gameplay
Puzzles are the backbone of any escape room. The better they're integrated into the story, the easier you forget you're "playing" and fully enter the universe. The selling point of Escape Reality is the use of augmented reality, an original and different concept compared to what most competitors offer. However, this also comes with disadvantages.
Everything is clearly explained before start: tutorial, tablet usage, puzzle-solving methods, and requesting hints. The problem? The implementation isn't for everyone. Although the room is marked as for beginners, we spent a lot of time with our eyes on the tablet, trying to understand not just WHEN to use it, but also WHERE to start the next puzzle.
In larger groups, active participation from everyone becomes difficult, because classic, tangible elements are largely missing (or are incomplete without tablet intervention). However, we did encounter one manual puzzle, unique and memorable, that instantly won us over. We would have liked to see more such moments.
Atmosphere & Immersion
The presentation from Escape Reality is, in our opinion, excellent. Modern website, central location, and probably the best-designed lobby we've seen so far. And that's before you enter the room. The room's decor is, without a doubt, the biggest asset of the experience: extremely detailed, well-executed, and perfectly aligned with the theme. You have sand, 'sun' burn above, hieroglyphs, and camels!

Final Verdict
We probably entered with expectations that were too high regarding the combination of classic escape room and augmented reality. Although we managed to escape and understood the puzzle logic in the end, the very element that was supposed to offer uniqueness overwhelmed us. For us, this mix didn't "click". That doesn't mean it's not worth trying — quite the opposite. Just enter open-minded and prepared for an experience different from a classic escape room.
